The Airlift

There’s a certain kind of history book, whose author is so clearly disdainful of narrative history and so goes out of their way to avoid really telling you much. They assume you already know all about the topic, and just want to fill you in on minute details.

That said, the stories that are told are very interesting. I especially liked the story of dive bombing the Soviet airbase on the way back to West Germany with empty champagne bottles.
